In May, we had the pleasure of welcoming the French for 50+ for 15 days. These students came from far and wide (Scotland, United States, Japan, Switzerland and Germany ..), but all were united to share their love for French language and culture.

Mornings were dedicated to French language lessons, with an emphasis on speaking. Students were able to discuss various topics such as news, culture and French cuisine … You can even find their presentations here.
Afternoons were spent exploring Nice and its spectacular surroundings…

During these 15 days, the students were totally immersed in French culture!

They unearthed Nice’s unique corners, mysteries and secrets unknown to tourists… and tasted local specialties such as socca, pissaladière and tapenade during an enjoyable evening at “Pipo” restaurant.

At a quintessential French « wine and cheese » tasting event organized by the school, students became acquainted with a wide variety of delicious French cheeses and sophisticated “Chateau de Bellet” wines.

All these cheerful and sociable moments were concluded with a visit to the Chagall Museum and the Matisse museum, brimming with works by the highly influential artist who was as equally captivated by the astonishing beauty of the region as our students.

Then we went to explore the picturesque town of Antibes and its famous cape, the charming hilltop village of Saint Paul de Vence, and the Chapel Folon.

We also visited the incredible Phoénix Park and Museum of Asian Arts in Nice.

The breathtaking medieval village of Entrevaux in the Alpes de Haute Provence, which is renowned as being one of the most beautiful villages in France!

These 15 days were full of unforgettable moments, joy, discovery, sharing and conviviality.

Our students certainly have a wealth of happy memories to take home, and we hope to see you next year!

Alpha.b est très heureux cette année d’être partenaire de la 10ème Édition du Festival « Femmes en scène » qui aura lieu du 8 au 18 mars à Nice.

Chaque année, nos étudiants assistent à des spectacles présentés au cours du Festival mais cette année, nous avons décidé de soutenir encore plus cet évènement important pour les femmes, les amoureux de l’art sous toutes ses formes et les différents lieux qui prennent vie pendant ces 10 jours.

Le Festival « Femmes en scène », qu’est-ce que c’est ?

C’est un Festival qui existe depuis 10 ans et qui propose plus de 20 évènements : concerts, danse, théâtre, expositions, conférences ou encore performances pendant 10 jours dans 10 lieux de Nice : le TNN et de nombreux autres théâtres, la cinémathèque, le C.U.M …

À la découverte des « Femmes en noir »

Avec nos étudiants, nous allons assister dimanche 11 mars au spectacle musical : « Les Femmes en Noir » à 16h, mis en scène par Françoise Nahon.

Il s’agit un spectacle qui retrace l’histoire de grandes chanteuses françaises : Barbara, Edith Piaf et Juliette Gréco, ces fameuses femmes en noir.

Un excellent moyen d’allier son apprentissage du français à la découverte de la culture et de la chanson française.

Pourquoi l’art est-il important dans l’apprentissage du français ?

During your stay at a French language school in Nice, you should not miss a visit to discover Eze Village

Of All the Cote d’Azur perched villages, Eze has the most impressive position. Looming over the sea at an altitude of 427m, Eze is the highest seaside village in France and makes a dramatic exclamation point along the Moyenne Corniche. The medieval walls that once encircled the village are long gone but the stony streets of the Old Town of Eze still wind precipitously uphill affording occasional glimpses of the sea far below .

At the top of the walles village is an Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique d’Eze) with drop-dead views of the coast. Another excellent opportunity to practise your French outside the classroom situation while studying French in France.

Visitors are also drawn to the two famous perfume factories, Galimard and Fragonard. With a long presence in the region, these two establishments vie for visitors, each offering free tours of their perfume factories, explanations of perfume-making and only a little sales pressure to buy their products. Other famous places: La Chevre d’Or is one of the most celebrated restaurants in the region and offers highly refined dining.
Château Eza is also well-kown for its cuisine and the splendid views from its terrace.
There is also an 18th-century baroque church and the modest 14th-century Chapelle des Penitents-Blancs.
How to go to Eze ? If you are by car, the best way to get to Eze is to take the Moyenne Corniche. By bus, lignedazur runs line 82 from Nice Gare Routière. The Eze village tourist office is at the entrance to the medieval town.
